ABOUT THIS SITE

When this site was first created over eight years ago, its purpose was primarily to promote the ministries of others.

Back then Google was not widely known, so I set out to create an easy reference of major ministries for friends and church members who were at the time internet novices. It later grew to include the promotion of Christian artists and worship ministries. The site was moved to OCC in February of 2000 where it steadily grew in size and visitors. By winter of 2002 the site was receiving nearly 9,000 traffic hits a month, quite a bit for a relatively unknown site. It became apparent that it was turning into "The Global Mission", and a frequent visitor even called it "The Soak Site".

I've helped a few budding webmasters learn basic HTML who later launched out on their own. Though circumstances and needs have changed, the vision has remained. I've heard it said that when we serve others and promote the ministries of others, God sees to it that we are blessed. Eight years ago I could never have imagined how many lives would be touched.

In recent years I wondered if the site had served its purpose and considered closing it down. However, the visitors kept coming and I just didn't have a peace about ending it. So, here I am, facing more transitions and looking to the future with a new sense of purpose.

The site will more than likely always remain somewhat simply done. Years ago I received an email from a missionary in the Congo who thanked me for the site. He had been viewing it regularly by laptop. That got my attention and I've never forgotten it, and it served as a reminder that my initial goal was to help those who were either new to the internet or perhaps were not living in the best of circumstances.

Since childhood I've enjoyed art. Recovery from health issues in recent years provided extra time to pursue learning 3D rendering and animation. It became obvious that this art form could effectively meet the need for Biblical illustrations at GLORYSONG. It is possible that this may be how God chooses to bless the early years of sowing into the ministries of others.

If you happen to be a budding webmaster, or budding musician, or budding artist, find time to bless others. Not only will you enjoy rich relationships, but you'll be positioning yourself under an open heaven of blessing. When the blessings come, sow them out again. You'll find it amazing what God can do with only a few resources and a pure heart.
